The Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly also known as the Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha, is a unicameral law making body of Uttarakhand, one of the 28 States in India, and is situated at Dehradun, the state capital of Uttarakhand, with 70 Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLA).

The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, BC Khanduri is also the Leader of the House, and the Speaker of the assembly is Harbans Kapoor. Margret alwa is the Governor of Uttarakhand.

Present Assembly

This is the third Vidhan Sabha (Legislative Assembly) of the state. The last state elections were held on 21 February 2007, when the Bharatiya Janata Party emerged as the largest party with 34 seats in the 70-seat legislature. One seat short of forming a majority, the BJP have had to rely on support from the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal and three independents to form the government. The Indian National Congress is the official opposition, holding 21 seats.
